Last Friday Ergosign inaugurated its new company building at the Eurobahnhof quarter with a party lasting into the early morning hours. With almost 2000 square metres, the company's headquarters, built according to the current KfW Efficiency House Standard (KfW 55), now offers space for further growth. With guests from science and politics, including Minister of Economic Affairs Rehlinger, Rhineland-Palatinate's Minister of Education Prof. Konrad Wolf and the Lord Mayor of Saarbrücken, Ms Charlotte Britz, employees from all Ergosign locations celebrated the newly created place of creative cooperation.
In her welcoming address, Anke Rehlinger, Minister of Economic Affairs of Saarland, praised Ergosign's work: "In a world in which digitization is finding its way into all areas of life, the design and layout of user interfaces is becoming increasingly important. Complex systems need to focus on the essentials so that they can be used intuitively right from the start. This is exactly where Ergosign's expertise lies. As Minister of Economic Affairs, I am extremely pleased that Ergosign, a digital enabler of the highest quality, has its home in Saarbrücken and thus also contributes to strengthening Saarland as an outstanding IT location. With this new building, the company is making a strong commitment to Saarland. I wish Ergosign all the best for the future!".
Ergosign erected the first company building at the Eurobahnhof as early as 2009 - two years later, additional premises were rented for the company's expansion at the location. With the active involvement of the employees in the entire planning of the building, an innovative building concept was developed after almost one year of construction together with the architectural office FloSundK and the construction company OBG, which optimally supports the agile working methods of the Ergosign teams in terms of space and technology. The heart of the new building is the impressive Forum, where the two Ergosign bands played for the opening. Together with the large roof terrace and the courtyard in the shadow of the futuristic-looking building, this offered various party zones for the more than 230 guests at the inauguration ceremony.
The two managing directors, Prof. Dr. Dieter Wallach and Dr. Marcus Plach, were also enthusiastic: "The foundation for the next steps has been laid - we are looking forward to many more innovative and challenging projects in our building." The fact that Ergosign and Leica Geosystems also received the renowned "UX Design Award" for the joint LEICA CYCLONE FIELD 360 project last Saturday at the IFA in Berlin rounded off a perfect week.
