Communication and Media Days 2017
After completing my studies of cultural and media sciences in August 2016, I decided to start an apprenticeship as a saleswoman for marketing communication at Ergosign, due to my strong interest for the field of corporate communications. I am now in the 3rd year of my apprenticeship and would like to take the opportunity to give you a small insight into one of our practice projects.
Within the scope of our training, we, the class MK11 of the Friedrich List School Saarbrücken, traveled to Munich to the "Communication and Media Days 2017" ("Kommed 2017") from May 15 to 19, 2017..
We visited well-known agencies and publishers, thus had a great opportunity to get exciting insights behind the scenes and into the daily work of these companies. Between the dates, we also discovered the beautiful and sunny sides of Munich City.
Before the start of the „Communication and Media Days“, all students were divided into groups, each of these groups had to work on different projects within the marketing field. These included for example a print project, a Facebook project and a travel guide creation.
Our group dealt with the topic of "social media marketing", so we had the task to create an Instagram page for the "Kommed 2017" and take our followers with us on this trip. As a result, the aim was to communicate our event and to achieve as much publicity as possible by choosing the right photos, texts and hashtags.
Finally, the project "DiaryofMunicK2017" was drawn up - an "online diary" with posts on all program points and activities.
The project already started on the evening before the excursion as preparation for our followers on the journey. The next post followed on the morning of departure with a more detailed explanation of the "Communication and Media Days 2017" and our project. Subsequently to the 4-hour train journey, we made a contribution to the presentation of all project participants with name, age and the respective company.
After having arrived in Munich, we described the interesting visits and lectures at Serviceplan (advertising agency), Vok Dams (event agency), Munich TV (tv channel), W & V (publisher) and OMD (advertising agency), as well as the leisure program between these visits in our Instagram posts.
The leisure activities included a visit at the „Hofbräuhaus“ and „Schuhbeck's ice cream parlor“, a small old-town tour and a visit to the rooftop bar on the roof of the TU Munich. Finally, we shared again some must-visits with our followers, ranging from exciting locations to culinary highlights.
Back in the beautiful Saarland, we wrote a farewell post as a thank to all the people who accompanied us on our trip and a short conclusion to our eventful and informative excursion.
